The life of any party, Gloria arrived in her leopard print and purple ensembles ready to have fun with those all around her. The matriarch of our family, she ensured her children and grandchildren felt all the love she had to give. Living fearlessly, she danced like no one was watching to popular musicians like Elvis Presley and Wayne Newton. A fan of Halloween, she loved to dress up and couldn’t go anywhere without her rouge and lipstick.
She was the devoted mother of Susan Skrupsky, and the late Diane Figueroa, who passed February 18, 2026, and the late Phyllis (Skrupsky) Taylor; loving sister of the late Doris (Gregoire) Cain; and the most loving grandma “Ma” to Diana Figueroa, Christopher Figueroa and his husband Andrew, Heather Rose Figueroa, Alan Taylor Jr. and the late Felicia Taylor. She was Auntie GiGi to her many nieces and nephews, and great nieces and nephews; fur grandma to Uno, Ruffles and the late Marley Cat, and fur great-grandma to her grandchildren’s many fur babies.
Relatives and friends are invited to attend a visitation for both Gloria and her daughter Diane, on Thursday, February 26, 2026 at 10:30 AM in Saint Anthony Church, 1413 Mineral Spring Avenue, North Providence, followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 11:00 AM. Burial will be private.
In lieu of flowers, contributions to the Rhode Island Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals (RISPCA), 155 Plan Way, Warwick, RI 02886 (www.rispca.org) in her memory would be appreciated.
