Hans Peter Edwardsen

Hans Peter Edwardsen, proud father of Pella, devoted son to Helene (Ege) and the late Captain Herbert Edwardsen , and loyal brother to Anita has unexpectedly passed away on May 31st, 2017. Peter worked at Brown University's since 2010 at the Department of Public Safety as their first director for IT/Systems and Technology. Prior to this he served as IT director at Major League Soccer Camps and as a a lead network technician at Foxwoods Resorts Casino; he was a graduate at the University of Rhode Island. Peter was solely responsible for launching many of Brown's DPS security technology initiatives and for managing the rapid expansion of these technologies. These initiatives greatly enhanced the overall security of Brown. He always showed up to work with great enthusiasm and always past people with a "hello", "good morning", or smile on his face. Many people will remember him for his love for his work and especially his family, his mother Helene, sister Anita, and especially the love of his life, his daughter Pella. He will be missed by many people for brightening their day and lives, as well as sharing funny stories and making them laugh. He never said no to a challenge ahead of him and always tackled everything thrown at him with a smile and enthusiasm on his face. Peter always made the best of any situation, and always took his time to laugh and talk to his family. In his spare time Peter enjoyed spending time with his family and dog. He especially loved traveling with his 3 girls on annual trips to New Hampshire, Norway and Disney.Thank you for all the laughs and smiles we have shared throughout the years. His funeral service will be held on Tuesday, June 6 at 3:30 in the Historic Chapel located within Swan Point Cemetery, 585 Blackstone Boulevard, Providence, RI 02906 to which relatives and friends are invited.
