Harold J. Morsilli, 76, passed away at home surrounded by his loving family on June 28, 2021. He had been the beloved husband and best friend of Linda J. (Thorpe) Morsilli for 53 years. Born in Providence, he was the son of the late Aristide Morsilli and Frances (Iannuccilli) Morsilli; loving father of Robert H. Morsilli and wife Julie, Kerri L. Moura and husband Timothy; devoted grandfather of Robert and Lauren Morsilli and Jared, Cameron, Collin and Taylor Moura; and brother of the late Marie Gautieri.
Raised in Johnston, Harold and his wife Linda settled in North Providence, where they raised their family before relocating to North Smithfield and The Villages, Florida. Harold attended LaSalle Academy. Thereafter, he received a Bachelor of Science degree in Civil Engineering from the University of Rhode Island, followed by a Master of Science degree in Civil Engineering from Worcester Polytechnic Institute. Harold spent the majority of his professional career as an engineering executive at The Maguire Group in Foxborough, Massachusetts, retiring after 42 years at age 63. He found great joy in civil engineering and managed major engineering projects throughout the United States and internationally. Rhode Island was always home to Harold and he was proud of his professional accomplishments in the state, especially re-routing the Providence River to support Providence Place Mall and extensive downtown redevelopment efforts. Outside of work, Harold was a passionate golfer. He was a long-time member of Valley Country Club in West Warwick, and he passed on his joy for the game to many in his family. He supported the Rhode Island Golf Association by reviewing and rating many golf courses in the state, and he and his partner won the Rhode Island Senior Four-Ball Championship in 2001. He was also an accomplished woodworker who loved building furniture, including complete bedroom sets for each of his six grandchildren. Most of all, Harold loved spending time with his wife, family and friends in Rhode Island and Florida. He was always present for his cherished wife, children and grandchildren, and left a positive and enduring impact on each of them.
