She was born to Joseph and Dorothea Salisbury on April 9, 1932 in Providence, Rhode Island. After graduating from St. Xavier high school, she married her beloved late husband, John E. Hollinrake. They were married for 66 years.
John and Hope raised nine children in Pawtucket and spent summers vacationing on Prudence Island. Together they had, and are survived by seven daughters, Susan Alexander, Jane Hollinrake, Lori Ryder (John), Hope McGarty (David), Joan Kazarian (Martin), Lisa Geary (Daniel), Lynn Stewart (Joseph) and two sons, John Hollinrake and David Hollinrake (Jodi), nineteen grandchildren and fifteen great-grandchildren. Hope cherished her daughters, sons and extended family.
Hope is also survived by her sister Joan Butler, and predeceased by her parents, sister Carol Salisbury and brother Joseph F. Salisbury III.
Hope devoted her life to raising her children. She was always there when we needed her and never the center of attention. She enjoyed spending summers on Prudence Island, college basketball, reading and spending time with her many friends and loving family. Hope could always be relied upon for her kind and generous nature.
At Hope’s request, her services will be private for immediate family members only. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Prudence Island Conservancy, P. O. Box 115, Prudence Island, Rhode Island 02872.
