Ian Alexander Novacek

March 23, 2006August 6, 2018

Ian Alexander Novacek, 12, passed away unexpectedly on August 6, 2018.

Ian was the beloved son of Michael Novacek and Heather Callanan-Novacek and loving brother of Grace Callanan. He was the cherished grandson of Betty Novacek; great-nephew of Patricia Callanan; nephew of Tony and Karen Novacek, Bob and Stephanie Novacek, Auntie Nan Novacek, Misty Chesney, Adriane Csikós, Amy Mize, Seth Kovak, David Wichman and Roland Soucy; godson of Timothy Ryan. He was the great-grandson of the late Anne Frances Reynolds and Thomas Callanan; grandson of the late Richard Novacek; nephew of the late Cathy Soucy; and cousin of the late Andrew Soucy. Nicknamed the "Mayor", Ian greeted everyone with a smile and either a joke or compliment. He was a pure joy to all that knew him. He knew how to improvise, adapt, and overcome from a young age. His love was pure and unconditional. The word most often used to describe him was "charming." He wanted to be a K9 officer, firefighter, train conductor, monster truck driver and join the army. He loved fast and exotic cars, airplanes, train rides and playing chess with his Dad. You can carry on in his memory by greeting strangers with a smile and choosing to make someone laugh. Rest easy buddy until we meet again. Who loves ya baby? We do! To the moon and back. Visitation will be held Tuesday, 4-7 p.m. in the PONTARELLI-MARINO Home, 971 Branch Avenue, Providence. His memorial service will be held on Wednesday at 12 noon in the auditorium at North Providence High School, 1828 Mineral Spring Avenue, North Providence. Burial will be private. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Hometown Foundation, Inc., 275 Schoolhouse Road, Cheshire, CT 06410.

My daughter and I were just reminiscing about when Ian told her he wanted to marry her and he said she could wear a hello kitty wedding dress and not to worry because his mom would plan it all out for them. He was so cute when he was little he loved hello kitty and so did Kenzie I think that’s one of the reasons why they hit it off as friends.
RIP Ian we love you xoxo

The Cape Cod Waves Special Olympics team has fond memories of Ian's smiling face at the Dream Ride Experience event this year and last. It was a joy to see him having a great time and being involved in every aspect of the weekend. He will be greatly missed by so many.

Sweet Ian was the very best of all of us. I remember him learning to walk as a little guy, everything was exciting and he absolutely stole my heart...and the show. Knowing Ian was a privilege, a contagious joy. He faced each challenge head on and rolled over them, always with that massive, joyful smile but gritty determination he got from his Momma. I believe Ian is free now, running, laughing, where all the parts work and there is no pain, only love. We will miss you desperately Ian, until we meet again sweet boy.

Ian, sweet young man. I’ll never forget what you said the first time you met me when your Mom drove you to my work at the pool years ago. You said Mom she’s a pretty Lady. That was it. You had my heart from then on. I fell in Love with you, just like everyone else who met you. You are a Rock Star, a hero an example for all to follow. Be Love Be Kind ❤️ Be an Angel like Ian was on Earth and now a beautiful Angel in Heaven.

We met when you were an infant, I knew then the magnitude of your spirit. To Heather , Michael and Miss Grace, what a beautiful spirit you were witness to and part of. Ian your reach is far and wide and yet to be seen. My deepest condolences to my dear friend and her family, but oh his spirit is unstoppable. Much love and peace now and always. ❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤
