Iola E. French (Manasterska), 82, passed away July 23, 2013. She was the daughter of the late Michael and Frances (Bronkiewicz) Manasterska; wife of the late Carol W. French; aunt of John Lukasiewiez, Paula Folger, Dale Gorton, John, David, Donald and Stephen Caranci, Nelson, James and Thomas French. She is also survived by several great nieces and nephews and great great nieces and nephews. She was the sister of the late Violet Lukasiewiez. She was an active member of many community and civic organizations. The Veazie Street Park was renamed the Iola French Park in 2003.
Visitation Monday, 9-10 a.m. followed by a service at 10 a.m. in the PONTARELLI-MARINO Home, 971 Branch Avenue, Providence. Burial will follow in Notre Dame Cemetery, Pawtucket. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in her memory to the Friends of the Wanskuck Library, c/o 60 Vandewater Street, Providence, RI 02908.
