James Nicholas Azzarone Jr., Esq., 51, of North Kingstown, passed away suddenly on Thursday, August 8, 2019 at Rhode Island Hospital, surrounded by his loving family.

He was the beloved husband of Robyn Pandozzi Azzarone, loving son of Sylvia DiGianfilippo Azzarone and devoted godfather to Emily Loiselle.

Jim’s family was the love of his life and his number one priority. Jim loved spending time with his family, they recently returned from a Fourth of July trip in Stowe Vermont where they spent time enjoying Jim’s love of the mountains. Jim was active; he enjoyed cooking, reading, running and family skiing trips in the winter and Maine in the summer.

Jim was born in Providence, the only child of the late James Azzarone Sr. and grandson to the late Sylvio and Jennie DiGianfilippo, and Frank and Rose Azzarone. He grew up in North Providence and graduated from Lasalle Academy in 1986. He earned his degree in Accounting from Providence College and later graduated from Syracuse University Law School. He was a member of The Rhode Island and Massachusetts Bar Association. After Law school, Jim continued to work with his grandfather Sylvio DiGianfilippo, co- owner of Imperial Tile and Marble Inc. Jim loved his grandfather’s trade so much that he opened his own company, Natural Stone & Tile Inc. A successful company with loyal customers that he called family.

It was important to Jim to be an organ donor and his memory will live on in those that are fortunate enough to receive from him the gift of life.

Visitation will be held Saturday, 8:30-10:30 a.m. in the PONTARELLI-MARINO Home, 971 Branch Avenue, Providence. Relatives and friends are welcome to attend a Mass of Christian Burial at 11 a.m. in St. Pius V Church, Eaton Street, Providence. Burial will be private.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital at www.stjude.org/donate.

To Jim's family:

I have known Jim for many years. He did tile floors in my house, my brother's houses and some of my jobs. He was always smiling, knowledgeable and completed his work quickly.
Did not know he graduated law school. Should have followed that life. Ours in construction seem to cut it short due to stress.
May god bless him and all his family.

Jim was always the biggest personality in the room. He had a way of making his friends and family smile, laugh and think. Jim was one of the smartest people around, and he also was one of the most caring, fun-loving, tough and kind. I have the best childhood memories thanks to Jim. We loved spending time on Greenwich Bay in the summer, reading, building forts in the woods behind his house, sharing Christmas Eve, sittting around a campfire, watching the Celtics and Red Sox, skiing, discussing history, working with our grandpa Sylvio, and playing cards and going to the beach on our trips to Florida. We shared many mutual friends who I know loved Jim and also had the best of times because of him. Words simply cannot express how deeply Jim will be missed by us all.

Love, Cousin Stephen

Jimmy you are a true definition of a friend. You had my back no matter what I had gotten myself into growing up. As we grew up you would always be there if I needed anything. You will be greatly missed by everyone. Our condolences to Robyn and Sylvia.
With Love,

Robyn our thoughts and prayers are with and your family.
We will miss Jimmy’s smiling face. He was always in the best mood, anytime you saw him he made you laugh. The deep thinker, big teddy bear, the “lawyer tile guy”. So many great memories. Too young, too soon so unfair.
