

CoventryJames N. "Jimmy" Corrigan , 58, passed away unexpectedly at Rhode Island Hospital on Saturday July 1, 2017 surrounded by his loving family. Jimmy was the beloved husband and best friend of Cynthia (Sollars) Corrigan for 28 years. Born in Providence, he was the son of the late James and Evelyn (Loveless) Corrigan. Jimmy was a devoted husband, father, son, brother, uncle and friend. He will be greatly missed.He attended The Holy Name School, Our Lady of Providence High School and Hope High School. Jimmy worked for the United States Postal Service in Providence for 31 years. He was an avid New England Patriots and Boston Bruins fan.Besides his wife, Jimmy is survived by his daughter, Samantha Corrigan and his son James Corrigan. He was also the brother of Madeline (Lynn) Corrigan of Cranston, Robert and his wife Geraldine Corrigan of East Greenwich and William, PPD, and his wife Ingrid Corrigan of Chepachet. He was the son-in-law of Marie Sollars of Cranston. Brother in-law of John and Roz Sollars of California, Susan and Michael Chalek of Cranston, Robin and Arthur (Buster) Andrews of Cranston and Mark and Clare Sollars of North Carolina. He was the uncle of 13 nieces and 5 nephews.Relatives and friends are invited to attend a Mass of Christian Burial on Friday, July 7th , at 10:00 am, in Saint Patrick Church, 244 Smith Street, Providence. Burial will follow at Saint Francis Cemetery, Pawtucket. Visiting hours Thursday, 4:00 -8:00 pm in The Russell Boyle & Son Funeral Home, 331 Smith Street, Providence. In lieu of flowers, donations to the American Heart Association, One State Street, Suite 200, Providence, RI 02908 in his memory will be appreciated.
