

Born in Providence, he was the son of the late John and Catherine (Corrigan) Cronin.
Jim attended St. Pius School and Lasalle Academy. A graduate of Providence College, he was an avid life-long PC Friars sports fan.
He served our nation proudly as a member of the Army Reserves. After serving his country, he worked for many years until his retirement as a clerk for the State of Rhode Island. Jim was a member of the reserves for a total of nineteen years.
One of Jim’s favorite pastimes was going out for breakfast. Over the years, he probably visited most of the popular diners in Rhode Island.
Jim was very proud of the fact that he had earned a black belt in karate. He loved photography and finding the perfect spots around the state to photograph. Jim was fond of sports cars and motorcycles. He especially enjoyed attending car shows while in his earlier years, he could be found riding one of his beloved motorcycles around the state.
He leaves his cousins Jean McDonnell of Warwick, Robert Corrigan of East Greenwich, Madeline Corrigan of Cranston, William Corrigan of Chepachet, Daniel Patrick O’Connor, Jr. of Narragansett, and many other cousins.
Visitation and funeral will be held Thursday, January 5th from 8:30-9:30 a.m. in the Russell J. Boyle & Son Funeral Home, 331 Smith Street, Providence. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10 a.m. in St. Pius V Church, 240 Eaton Street, Providence. Burial will follow in St. Francis Cemetery, Pawtucket.
