Born in Providence, he was the son of the late Arthur W. and Jane (Haggerty) Jolin. He had been the husband of Edith M. (Angell) Jolin for 63 years.
James had worked for William Bloom and other various construction companies as a carpenter before retiring. He was also a WWII Navy Veteran. He was a Life Member of the United Brotherhood of Carpenters and Joiners of America Local 94.
He was the father of James A. Jolin Jr., Dr. Edith M. Jolin and Deborah A. Roy; grandfather of 6; great-grandfather of 3; brother of Arthur W. Jolin Jr., Margaret J. Hewitt and Helen C. Marsella.
Visitation will be held Wednesday, 4-7- p.m. with a funeral on Thursday at 8:15 a.m. from the PONTARELLI-MARINO Home, 971 Branch Avenue, Providence. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 9:15 a.m. in St. Anthony Church, 1413 Mineral Spring Avenue, North Providence, followed by a burial with Military Honors in Highland Memorial Park, Johnston.
