Providence Mello, James A.,"Jimmy", 77, of Providence, died October 19, 2013 at the Pawtucket Skilled Nursing and Rehabilitation Center. Born in East Providence, a son of the late Anthony J. and Alice J. (Silva) Mello, Jimmy was a vibrant and well known member of the Smith Hill community for many years. He leaves a brother, Ronald J. Mello (Ret PPD); a sister, Jean Mello, and many friends in the Smith Hill neighborhood. He was a brother of the late George Mello and Dorothy Sanchez. Committal Prayers will be offered Monday morning, at 11:00 am, in the Chapel of Gate of Heaven Cemetery, 550 Wampanoag Trail, East Providence, to which relatives and friends are invited.
