

SMITHFIELD- Rego, Jason C., age 23, died Wednesday at his home after a long illness surrounded by his beloved wife, Diana C. (Flore) Rego, his loving mother and father, brothers, grandparents, and a host of aunts, uncles, cousins, and countless friends, along with Father James Ruggieri, two Hospice nurses, and a Hospice Chaplin. Born in Providence, He was a son of Joao and Maria (Oliveira) Rego. Jason was a devoted brother of John and Matthew Rego. He is also survived by his paternal grandparents, Joao and Maria (Andrade) Rego, his maternal grandmother, Clementine (Andrade) Oliveira. He was the maternal grandson of the late Joao Oliveira. Jason was a communicant of Saint Patrick Church. He graduated from Saint Patrick Grammar School in Providence and was an outstanding basketball player. He attended Smithfield High School and volunteered at Rego's Auto Body in Providence. Jason loved his family and friends very much. His happiest moments were riding his motorcycle and the sense of freedom he felt while riding it. Jason's most precious moments were spent with his loving family. Jason's personality always had a way of putting a smile on your face. He has touched so many hearts throughout his life. We were all blessed to have him in our lives. He will always be loved and will be sorely missed. His funeral will be held on Saturday morning, at 7:30 am, from the Russell J. Boyle & Son Funeral Home, 331 Smith Street, Providence. Mass of Christian Burial at 9:00 am in Saint Patrick Church, 244 Smith Street Providence. Visiting hours Friday 4-8 pm.
