Joan Ann Leonard

ProvidenceJoan A.Leonard, 81, of Deerfield Beach, Fl, formerly of Smith St. in Providence, passed away on February, 6, 2017. She was the wife of Victor F. Leonard, Sr.. They were married for 57 years. Born and raised in Providence, Joan was the daughter of the late Walter and Loretta Floody. Joan was a Crossing Guard for the City of Providence for over 30 years. She, along with her husband Victor, served as foster parents for many years. Besides her husband, she leaves her daughters, Jane, Lori and Yvonne Leonard, and Christine Dube, a son, Victor F. Leonard Jr., her loving grandchildren, Victor III, and Brittany Leonard, Jessica and Antonio Vazquez, Ethan Young, Damen Leonard, Christopher Lombardi Jr., Joseph Breit, Dylan and Brianna Dube, her great grandchildren, Julianna , Talia , Audrey , Jiovanni and Natalie, her sisters, Catherine Floody, Barbara McElroy, and Janet Deignan. She was the sister of the late, Loretta Sullivan, Mary DeVries, John, Thomas, and Eugene Floody. Visitation, Friday 4-7 PM in the Russell J. Boyle & Son Funeral Home, 331 Smith Street, Providence. Funeral Saturday at 9:45 AM followed by Mass of Christian Burial at 11 am in Saint Augustine Church, 639 Mt. Pleasant Ave, Providence. Burial Gate of Heaven Cemetery, East Providence.
