John S. Lombardi, 82, passed away August 10, 2013. He was the beloved husband of Annina “Nina” (Iannitti) Lombardi for 56 years. Son of the late Ludovico and Giovanna (Zeppa) Lombardi; devoted father of Anne Sciotto and Joanne Gemma and her husband Joseph; cherished grandfather of Jenna Sciotto, Angelo, John and Stephen Gemma; brother of Amelia Germano and Elena Ferri and the late Guido Lombardi. He brought love, light and joy into all of our hearts and our lives.
John was a retired Providence Police Officer and also served in the Navy during the Korean War.
Visitation Tuesday, 5-7 p.m. A funeral home service will be held Wednesday at 10 a.m. in the PONTARELLI-MARINO Home, 971 Branch Avenue, Providence. Burial with military honors in the RI Veterans Cemetery, Exeter. In lieu of flowers, donations to St. Kateri Tekakwitha Church, 84 Exeter Road, Exeter, RI 02822.
