Born in Providence, Jorge was the cherished son of Pedro Santos Francisco and Zunilda (Muñoz) Francisco. He was a gentle soul — a sweet “teddy bear” whose smile could lift the spirits of anyone nearby. His laugh was infectious, bringing joy, comfort, and connection to all who heard it. Jorge loved life with a full heart, and everyone fortunate enough to know him felt the depth of his love.
As a father, Jorge was tender, present, and endlessly proud of his children, Sean C. Francisco and Isabel Francisco of North Providence, and Jahnavi L. Pena-Francisco of Providence, who were the lights of his life. His guidance, strength, and warmth shaped their lives in ways that will be treasured forever.
In addition to his wife and children, Jorge is survived by his siblings: Felix Francisco of Providence; Gricel Francisco-Ramos and her husband, Rody, of North Providence; and Roxanna Francisco of Providence. His father and mother in law, Joseph and Stephanie Rigney of Providence and his brother and sister in law, Joseph and Hannah Rigney of Cranston. He also leaves many loving aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, and cousins.
Though he has passed from our sight, Jorge’s spirit lives on in the memories we hold, the stories we share, and the love he gave so freely. He taught us how to live with kindness and patience, how to find joy in simple moments, and how to love others without reservation. While our hearts ache with sorrow, we take comfort in knowing Jorge lived a life full of laughter, loved deeply, and left behind a legacy of joy. He will be forever missed and always remembered.
His funeral will be held from the Russell J. Boyle and Son Funeral Home, 331 Smith Street, Providence, on Saturday, January 10, 2026, at 8:45 a.m., followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 10:00 a.m. at Blessed Sacrament Church, Academy Avenue, Providence. Burial will be in Highland Memorial Park, Johnston.
Calling hours will be Friday, January 9, 2026, from 4:00 to 8:00 p.m. at the funeral home. In lieu of flowers, donations in Jorge's memory should be made to the American Diabetes Association, www.diabetes.org/donate
