Jose is the beloved son of Francisca Gomez and Orlando Jose Rivera, he was born in Fajardo, PR then raised in Rochester NY, then moved to Providence RI.
Besides his parents he also leaves his 2 daughters Shannon Gomez and Veronica Gomez, his 2 grandsons Chance and DJ, his sister Christine Vazquez, his brothers Amador Vazquez, Benjamin Vazquez, Anthony Andino and all his nieces and nephews, great nieces and nephews and many other Relatives and Friends.
Pucho was a "jack of all trades", There was nothing he couldn't do when it came to building and fixing things. He would always help when he could.
Our beloved Pucho had the most beautifuliest of souls, anyone and everyone he came across loved him because he was just so genuine and had this contagious laugh that was awesome.
He was that class clown type of guy, no matter the situation, he was always smiling and making people laugh around him. He did not like to see family or friends being sad. His favorite saying was "Dont mess around with homey the clown" in his Special Voice...(you all know that voice)
He loved his kangols and music.
You could find him and Dawn always dancing under the India Point Bridge and hanging with his new found friends that became his family that he loved and always talked about....The Providence Biker Boys. These guys showed him nothing but Love and Always looking out for him when he was on the streets.
Our family is deeply appreciated and thankful to the Biker Boys for the memorial and all the love they showed for Papi Chulo at India Point Park. It was beautiful to watch. Also, a huge Thank You to Frances Gomez.
Pucho was a Son, a Brother, a Father, a Friend to many. He will Definitely be missed, but never ever Forgotten. His memory will live forever in the hearts of all those whom he has come across and loved him.
Due to the current COVID-19 restrictions, a Celebration of Life will take place for Jose at a future date. We will let everyone know when we have the details.
So in light of the situation, we encourage any relatives and friends that wish to pay tribute to do so by posting to the tribute wall provided by Russell J Boyle & Sons and any other social media outlets.
