Josefina L. Arevalo

Josefina Leilani (De Gala) Arevalo, 66, of Cranston, passed away at home surrounded by her loving family on October 19, 2021. Born in San Miguel, Bulacan, Philippines, she was the daughter of the late Jose Santos and Hattie (Kahue) De Gala.

Josefina graduated from Central High School in Providence. She worked for Monet Jewelry for almost 20 years until their closing. Her life’s devotion was to her children and family.

She was the mother of Mary Ellen Arevalo and Luis Merida Jr., sister of Celestina Ticzon and husband Zacarias, Larraine Flores and husband Generoso, Alberto De Gala, Cecilia Bagalawis and husband Leetho, Alicia Tayag, Jaime De Gala and wife Maura, May Ann De Gala-Losee and husband Brian, Lorelei Ngooi and husband Chui-Oan, Neal, Antonio and Arturo De Gala. She was also aunt to many nieces and nephews.

Visitation will be held Monday from 4-7 PM in the ROMANO FUNERAL HOME, 627 Union Avenue, Providence.

Relatives and friends are invited to attend a Mass of Christian Burial on Tuesday at 10:00 AM in Immaculate Conception Church, 237 Garden Hills Drive, Cranston. Burial private.
