Born in the Federal Hill section of Providence, he was the son of the late Giuseppe and Giovaninna (Cacchiotti) Andreozzi and had been the husband of the late Claire (Mascarelli) Andreozzi.
Joseph began his career on the railroad in 1947. In 1950, he became a member of the Laborers' International Union of North America - Local 271 and remained as a lifelong member.
He was the beloved father of Jean J. Codega and her husband Richard, Joseph and Steven Andreozzi, Nicholas Andreozzi and his wife Elizabeth, Joan Lowney, Annie Jones and her husband Royal; grandfather of 7; brother of Vera Koch, Flora Petrucci, Dolores Pistorio and the late Theresa Ianniello, Sadie Simeone, Yolanda Annunziata and Jenny Vecchio.
Visitation will be held Tuesday, 5-8 p.m. with a funeral on Wednesday at 9 a.m. from the PONTARELLI-MARINO Home, 971 Branch Avenue, Providence. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10 a.m. in the Holy Ghost Church, Knight Street, Providence. Graveside burial will follow in St. Ann Cemetery, Cranston.
