

Born in Providence, he was a son of the late Michael and Dorothy (Horton) Boccanfuso. He was the loving father of Natalie Rojas and her husband Peter Rojas Jr., and Amanda Sacilowski and her husband Jeff Sacilowski; cherished Papa to Hannah Sacilowski, Morgan Rojas and Alexander Sacilowski; brother of Paul, Richard, Roger and Joann Boccanfuso and the late Michael Boccanfuso. He also leaves his beloved dog, Cinnamon.
Joe grew up on Federal Hill but resided in Warwick for 38 years. He worked for the City of Providence as a laborer and was a member of Local Union 1033. Joe also worked for the Providence Gravure which later became QuebercorWorld and was a member of the Newspaper Printing Pressmen's Local Union 12.
Joe enjoyed fishing, golfing, playing and watching multiple sports throughout his life. He shared his love for these things with his children and grandchildren. His eyes shined and his smile beamed with love for his family and friends. Joe and his wife Elaine showered their children and grandchildren with love, that love was based on their deep love and support of each other. Joe's courageous spirit inspired his family to push through tough times and cherish the good times. He will be forever missed but never forgotten.
Visitation will be held Sunday, 2-5 p.m. with his funeral on Monday at 8:45 a.m. from the PONTARELLI-MARINO Home, 971 Branch Avenue, Providence. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10 a.m. in Holy Ghost Church, 472 Atwells Avenue, Providence. Burial will be private.
