

Joseph DeFusco, 75, passed away July 24, 2013 at Cherry Hill Manor, where he resided with his wife Kathleen (Cotoia) DeFusco for the past 6 years. They had been married for 51 years. Born in Providence, he was the son of the late Angelo and Josephine (Silvaggio) DeFusco.
Besides his wife, he is survived by his caring, long-term advocates, his cousin Ellen Turchetta and his dear friend Thomas Sanford. He is also survived by his sister Jean Scungio of Johnston; and many nieces, nephews and cousins.
Joe taught business and was the Department Chair at both Pilgrim and Toll Gate High Schools. He retired from Toll Gate in 1990. He was a graduate of Bryant College and Rhode Island College.
Visitation Wednesday 5:30-6:30 p.m. followed by a Memorial Service at 6:30 p.m. in the PONTARELLI-MARINO Home, 971 Branch Avenue, Providence. Burial will be private.
