Providence: -- Diggins, Joseph V. Jr., 50, passed away Monday evening at Rhode Island Hospital with his family by his side. He was the loving son of the Cecelia Agnes (Coffey) Diggins of Providence and the late Joseph V. Diggins, and the beloved brother of Ellena A. and Susan M. Diggins of Providence. He is survived by his aunts, cousins, and many loyal friends. He was graduate of LaSalle Academy, Class of 1974 and attended University of Rhode Island. Joey loved going to Roy Carpenter's Beach where he was a lifelong resident. He enjoyed playing hockey, listening to his music and fishing and camping in New Hampshire. Most of all he was an avid writer of poetry. Funeral will be Friday at 9:15am from the Russell J. Boyle & Son Funeral Home, 331 Smith St. Providence. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10:30am in Saint Joseph Church, 92 Hope Street, Providence, Burial will be in Saint Ann Cemetery, Cranston.Visiting hours, Thursday, 4-8pm.
