Joseph W. Porreca, Sr., 79, of Smithfield, passed away on Friday evening, May 1, 2015 at the Miriam Hospital, in Providence. He was the beloved husband of Rose M. (Vennettillo) Porreca.Born in Providence, he was a son of the late Vincent and Mary (Franco) Porreca.Joseph enjoyed fly fishing with his wife and family.Besides his wife, he leaves three sons, Joseph Porreca Jr., Kenneth Porreca and his wife, Diane, of North Providence, and David Porreca, and his wife, Sandy, of West Greenwich; four grandchildren and one great grandchild. He was preceded in death by his three brothers and two sisters. Relatives and friends are cordially invited to visit with Joseph's family on Saturday, May 9, 2015 from 10:00 am to 12:00 pm, in the Russell J.
