Born in Providence, he was the son of the late Carmine and Josephine (Natale) Tamelleo.
Joe worked for the City of Providence for 35 years, lastly as an engineer. He was also a member of Local 1033, in which he served as steward, and he was an avid golfer and Yankee fan.
He was the father of Joseph D., Jr., Steven and Melissa Tamelleo and brother of Elizabeth Lach, Alfred Anzevino, Lois Lorello, Carmen Pizzi and Donald Tamelleo.
His funeral will be held Friday at 9:00 am from the ROMANO FUNERAL HOME, 627 Union Avenue, Providence followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 10:00 am in Holy Cross Church, 645 Hartford Avenue, Providence.
