Joseph A. Tiberi

Joseph A. “Joe” Tiberi, 86, of South Main Street, Coventry passed away January 8, 2019. He was the former husband of Carol (Romeo) Tiberi.

Born in Providence, he was the son of the late Gaetano and Ursula (Salvatore) Tiberi.

Joe owned and operated the Decatur Social Club on Carpenter Street, Providence for many years. He also worked as a flagger for Cardi’s Construction and was a member of the Laborer’s Union 271. He was also an Army Veteran.

He was the father of Joseph Tiberi, Jr., Gloria Tiberi, Michael Tiberi, Nicholas Tiberi, Felicia Tiberi and the late Jason Tiberi; grandfather of 9: great grandfather of 7 and brother of Bernard, Richard and Gaetano Tiberi, Cynthia Lemoi, Mary Carroccia and the late Girio Tiberi.

His funeral and visitation will be held Tuesday, January 15, 2019 from at 9:00 AM – 10:30 AM in the ROMANO FUNERAL HOME, 627 Union Avenue, Providence, followed by a Funeral Service at 10:30 AM in the funeral home. Burial will be private. www.romanofuneralhome.com.

COMPANY A BLOCK AWAY.
MY FAMILY MARRIED MANY
FROM THE NEIGHBORHOOD AND BECAME HUGE BUT ALWAYS
SOME WOULD STAY ON THE HILL OR GO TO THE SQUARE. SONNY WHO JUST
DIED 90 years old was the last to hang at the square. GOOD BYE JOE.

Joe was the best guy I'm Decatur square that I've known he allowed me to live in his houses when I had no money to pay he had a lot of my family and then houses he was good he was also the best friend of my nieces and nephews father Freddy the kook I also lived in the house on Macklind Street with his wife Carol I grew up with his kids there's not a thing Joe wouldn't do for anybody I just want to say keep my safe Joe you know I mean Carol please be the wings on my shoulders I love you guys my condolences to the tiberi family all of yous mean a lot to me

Joe was a man who played by his own rules, it was his way or the high way, but that’s what made him Joe T.
We may not have always seen eye to eye, but the last conversation we had I can honestly say was the most meaningful, and I’m truly grateful we got to share that.
