

Barry, Josephine E., 89, of Warwick, RI, died peacefully on Monday, June 7th, surrounded by her loving family. Born in Syracuse, NY, she was the wife of the late Richard J. Barry, Jr., and the daughter of the late John and Lucia (Cappiello) Tuori. She had a deep love for the poor and neglected; for over two decades served the guests at McAuley House in Providence and brought Holy Communion to the sick at Kent Hospital. In 1996 she was awarded the Feinstein Community Service Award, which recognized the 'exemplary' work she did to combat hunger in Rhode Island. She also ministered in many other ways with her St. Gregory the Great parish family. She enjoyed swimming and socializing with her friends, and especially cherished time with her loving family. She lived life fully and joyfully. She is survived by five sons; Richard J. Barry III and his wife Judy, of Warwick, John M. Barry and his wife Barbara, of Warwick, William P. Barry and his wife Cathy, of North Kingstown, James T. Barry and his wife Diane, of Madison, CT, and Thomas P. Barry and his wife Margaret, of Mt. Pleasant, SC. She was also adored by eleven grandchildren. She is survived by a brother, Michael J. Tuori of Monroeville, PA, and is proceeded in death by four other siblings, Carmela Sandro, Gaetano Tuori, Tony Tuori, and Madeline Tuori. Her funeral will be held on FRIDAY at 9am from The RUSSELL J. BOYLE & SON Funeral Home 142 Centerville Rd., WARWICK, with a Mass of Christian Burial at 10am in St. Gregory the Great Church. Interment will follow in RI Veterans Memorial Cemetery. Calling hours are THURSDAY from 5 to 8pm.
