Josephine Mendoza, 94, of Babcock Street, Providence passed away peacefully on February 6, 2025, at Rhode Island Hospital surrounded by her loving family. She was the beloved wife of the late Fabio Mendoza.

Born in New York, Josephine was the daughter of the late Roy Mallory and Olga Morales.

She was a devoted school teacher for many years before her retirement.

With profound gratitude we celebrate her incredible life, whose remarkable journey was a beacon of love, kindness and devotion, inspiring the lives of everyone she touched.

Josephine was the sister of the late Mercedes Acevedo, Rosario Rodrigues, the late Mario De Ferrari and the late Carlos Morales.

She was the beloved mother of Olga and Ambiorix Gonzalez, the late Marisol Montes De Oca, Fabiola and Martín Fisher MD, Mireya Mendoza and Héctor José, Artistitza (Puchy) and Félix Rojas, Rebecca and Luis Ortega, Belkis and Robert Voisinet.

Josephine was the cherished grandmother of 15 and adored great-grandmother of 21.

Visitation will be held on Tuesday February 11, 2025, from 4:00-7:00 p.m. in the Romano Funeral Home, 627 Union Avenue Providence. Relatives and friends are invited to attend a Mass of Christian Burial on Wednesday February 12, 2025, at 10:00 am in St. Charles Church, 178 Dexter Street, Providence. Burial to follow in St. Ann Cemetery.
