

Born in Providence, she was the daughter of the late Lorenzo and Florence (Marinucci) DiCenzo.
Julia worked for many years in the jewelry manufacturing industry for various companies as a highly skilled assembler of fine jewelry.
She loved to cook meals for her family using items from their backyard organic garden. She especially liked making homemade pasta alongside her loving husband. She also made desserts that she would see on cooking shows that she enjoyed watching.
She was an avid knitter until two weeks before passing. Her specialty was Irish knit sweaters she made for her grandchildren. She also created her own patterns to everyone’s amazement.
She was the mother of Robert E. Colapietro and grandmother of Christopher Colapietro and his wife Jennifer and Nicholas Colapietro and his wife Kristi and great grandmother of Samantha, Julia, Noah and Connor. She was also the mother-in-law of Cynthia A. O’Connell and sister of the late Frank, Joseph, Anthony and Rudolph DiCenzo, Lillian Colardo and Florence Anne Camara.
Visitation will be held on Monday, June 22, 2026 from 5:00-7:00 PM in the PONTARELLI-MARINO FUNERAL HOME, 971 Branch Ave., Providence.
Relatives and friends are invited to attend a Mass of Christian Burial on Tuesday, June 23, 2026 at 10:00 AM in Mary, Mother of Mankind Church, 25 Fourth Street, North Providence. Graveside burial to follow in St. Francis Cemetery, Pawtucket.
