Born in New Bedford, MA on January 21, 1960, he was the son of the late Howard E. Thompson Sr. of Columbus, GA and Nettie Hodges of Thomasville, NC.
Keith leaves to mourn his mother Nettie (Hodges) Jones and stepfather Frederick Jones; his brothers Leslie Thompson and James Townes of RI, his sisters Christina Thompson-Barton and Debra Thompson of MA. His oldest brother Howard Thompson Jr. preceded him in passing. He also leaves a host of family members and friends.
Keith traveled as a child due to his father’s military background which led him to MA where he continued his education where he graduated from Boston Technical High. Keith continued his travels which led him to reside in Providence, RI where he worked as a prevention worker at Aids Care Ocean State for 6 years, which he enjoyed. Keith was a very happy, bubbly and outgoing jokester who loved meeting new people. He was loved by all and there was not a person with a more genuine heart. We love you and miss you Keith.
For a second you were flying like you always wanted to
Now you fly forever in skies of azure blue.
We will see your smile in every ray of sunshine after rain
And hear the echo of your laughter over all the pain.
The world a little quieter now the colors have lost their hue
The birds are singing softly and our hearts are missing you.
Each time we see a little cloud or a rainbow soaring high
We’ll think of you and gently wipe a tear from our eye.
