

Kenneth Allen Votta Sr., 79, of Johnston, Rhode Island, passed away peacefully surrounded by his family on March 30, 2026. Born on December 26, 1946, in Providence, Rhode Island, he was the son of the late Cosmo and Gladys (Gaynor) Votta. He was raised in Providence, a place he always considered home.
Kenneth was the father of five children: the late Kenneth Votta Jr., Gina Votta Lima, James Votta Sr., Richard Votta Sr. and his wife, Cindy, and Judith Votta McParlin.
He was a proud “Papa” to his 13 grandchildren: the late Kenneth Votta III, Justine Votta (Jeffrey Pina), Richard Votta (Emily Potemri), Daniel McParlin Jr., Cassandra McParlin, Corey Votta, James Votta Jr., Jordan Lima and his wife, Cindy, Alexis Lima, Arianna McParlin, Jade Lima, Nicholas Votta, and Mateo Votta.
He is also survived by his great-grandchildren: Alyssa, Kenneth IV, Eileesha, Jonathan, Amora, and Louie.
He was the brother of Donald Votta and his wife, Mary, and the late Richard Votta.
He is also survived by many loving nieces, nephews, great-nieces, and great-nephews.
Ken worked as a mason for many years, including time working alongside his three sons. He played in a men’s softball league for 25 years and had a lifelong love of New England sports, especially the Boston Bruins and Boston Red Sox. His loyal companion, his beloved late dog Brady, was always by his side and brought him endless joy. He also enjoyed traveling, time at the beach, and most of all, time spent with his children and grandchildren.
Services will be held at Saint Anne’s Cemetery in Cranston, Rhode Island, on Friday April 10th, 2026.
He will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved him.
