Laura Bell DeLuca

Laura was the daughter of the late Jessie and Cordell (Brown) Brooks and wife of the late Edward DeLuca.

She was the mother of Edward DeLuca, Jr. of Cranston, Diane Nelson of Rumford, Sandra Deluca of Riverside and the late Patricia Acevedo; grandmother of Richard Nelson, Jo-Ann Chapman, Raymond Burnham, James Burnham and Shawna Swift; great grandmother of Victoria Nelson, Crystal Marino, Zachary Marino, Kaylin Marino, Deanna Marino, Jimmy Burnham and Evan Burnham; great great grandmother of 4 and sister of Billie Thompson and the late Bobbie Huff.

What Laura enjoyed mostly was celebrating the holidays when the whole family would gather together. She took great pleasure spending time with her children going to restaurants and the casino and reminiscing about her childhood living in Atlanta.

Laura worked for the State of R.I. at the Eleanor Slater Hospital as an Institutional Attendant of Psychiatrics. She valued her patients, showed them respect and treated them with dignity and in return the residents loved her and they all called her ma.

Her visitation will be held Thursday from 5:00 – 7:00 PM in ROMANO FUNERAL HOME, 627 Union Avenue, Providence. Burial will be private.
