

ProvidenceRoberge, Lawrence A., Jr., "Chip", 60, of Fifth Street, died Tuesday at home. He was the husband of Mary Ann Sheridan-Woods. They had been married for sixteen years. Born in Providence, a son of the late Lawrence A. and Mary K. (MacDonald) Roberge, he was raised in the Riverside section of East Providence, and had lived in Providence for many years. Chip was a cardiovascular perfusionist at the Miriam Hospital for thirty-four years before retiring in 2005. He enjoyed golfing, camping, riding his motorcycle, and vacationing on Saint Maartin, but most of all he enjoyed his visits to the Hot Club, on the Providence Waterfront. He served his country proudly in the U.S. Navy during the Vietnam War. Beside his wife Mary Ann, he leaves a son, Lawrence A. "Lance" Roberge III, of Providence, and was pre-deceased by another son, Brett E. Roberge. He also leaves a brother, John Roberge, and a sister, Patricia McWilliams. The funeral will be held Saturday, at 8:45 am, from the Russell J. Boyle & Son Funeral Home, 331 Smith Street, Providence. Mass of Christian Burial at 10:00 am in Saint Mary Church, 538 Broadway, Providence. Burial, with military honors, will be in the Newell Cemetery, South Attleboro, Massachusetts. Visiting hours Friday, 5 - 8 pm.In lieu of flowers, donations to the Children of Fallen Soldiers Relief Fund, P.O. Box 3968, Gaithersburg, Maryland 20885-3968 in his memory will be appreciated.
