

Lee Frederick Hampton Phillips Sr., 57, passed away December 25, 2022. Born in Providence, he was a son of the late Wilbur Lee and Lillian Jeanne (Cantone) Phillips. He was the partner of Karen Bates.
Lee served in the U.S. Army during Desert Storm. He also had worked as a Tel Com technician for IBSI Communications for several years before retiring.
He was a family man with a heart of gold. He was hard working and his kindness and generosity was felt by all who knew him. He loved to get his whole family together and enjoyed time spent with all of them the most.
He is survived by his children, Lauren Phillips, Amanda St. Pierre, Sarah Lee Phillips, Stephanie Ostrowski, Alexandria Phillips, Lee F. Phillips Jr., William Bates, Matthew Bates and Isaiah Phillips; his siblings Virginia Phillips, Donna Greene, Christine Dionne Phillips, Kevin Lee Phillips, Nicola B. Barone Sr., Wendy Phillips and the late Robert Simas. He also leaves 19 grandchildren and 25 nieces and nephews.
Visitation and funeral will be held Tuesday, January 3rd from 9-10:30 a.m. in the Russell J. Boyle & Son Funeral Home, 331 Smith Street, Providence. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 11 a.m. in St. Patrick Church, 244 Smith Street, Providence. Burial with military honors will follow in St. Ann Cemetery, Cranston.
