Leona M. Martin

Cranston:Leona M.( Soltys) Martin, 77, passed away Friday at Rhode Island Hospital. She was the beloved wife of the late Edward F. "Ted" Martin. Born in Providence, she was the daughter of the late Walter S. and Margaret M. (Harding) Soltys. She was employed at the Janice Jewelry Company for many years before her retirement. Leona is survived by her children, Edward C. Martin, Robert E. Martin and his wife Noreen, Debra Faiola with whom she lived and her husband Steven, and Barbara Varone, all of Cranston. Nine grandchildren, and five great-grandchildren. She was the mother in law of the late Robert Varone. She is also survived by her sister, Mary Mitson, and her husband Paul; a brother, Frank Soltys, and his wife Carol; sister in law and friend of Eileen Soltys. She was the sister of the late, Edward, John, Walter, Martin Soltys, Beverly Dolon, and Ann Mayne. Funeral will be held on Wednesday at 8:45 from the Russell J. Boyle & Son Funeral Home, 331 Smith St., Providence. Mass of Christian Burial at 10 am in St. Ann Church, Cranston St., Cranston. Burial will be in St. Ann Cemetery, Cranston.
