SmithfieldLias, Lexy L., 84, of Limerock Road, died Tuesday at the Briarcliff Manor Nursing Home, Johnston. She was the wife of the late Jorge Lias. Born in Havana, Cuba, a daughter of the late Juan A. and Adela (Cespedes) Rubio, she was raised in Cuba and came to the United States to live and work in Miami Beach, Florida. Mrs Lias was an X-Ray Technician at the Mount Sinai Hospital, in Miami Beach, for many years, retiring in 1992. She then moved to Rhode Island to be nearer her family and worked as an inspector for the Napier Company for several years. She was a member of the First Church of God Congregation for many years.She leaves two daughters, Gilsa Skaggs and Odalys Guerra, a son, Jorge Lias Jr., five grandchildren and six great-grandchildren.The funeral service will be held Saturday, at 10:00 am, in the Russell J. Boyle & Son Funeral Home, 331 Smith Street, Providence. Burial will be in the North Burial Ground, Providence. Visiting hours Friday evening 5 - 8 pm. to which relatives and friends are invited.
