Lorraine M. Johnston, formerly of Warwick, died on May 24, 2011 at Hopkins Manor in North Providence at the age of 82. She was the loving wife of Anthony R. Johnston for over 55 years and devoted mother of David and his wife Carole; grandmother of Jeffrey (Filomena) and Scott (Lisa), and great-grandmother of Jenna, Joseph and Gian. She was a special godmother of Nikki-Lyn Johnston.
Daughter of the late Arthur and Eva (Mangera) Poirier and sister of Marie Barron and Arthur Poirier, Lorraine was a faithful woman who spent many hours a day in prayer. She made hundreds of rosary beads for the missions in Africa and for others, and was a Eucharistic Minister who provided Communion to many hospital patients.
A memorial mass will be held at St. Agnes Church, 100 Chatham Street, Providence, at 10 a.m. on Friday, May 27th. There will be no calling hours and flowers are respectfully omitted.
