IN THE CARE OF
Romano Funeral Home
Lottie (Lettieri) Menna, 90, of Cranston, passed away peacefully on January 18, 2022 at Morgan Health Center, Johnston. She was the wife of the late Joseph A. Menna for 63 years. Born in the Silver Lake section of Providence, she was the daughter of the late Pasquale and Ida (Geremia) Lettieri.
She graduated from Mt. Pleasant High School and was the recipient of the Anthony Medal. She went on to have a long career as a legal secretary while raising her family. She was a devoted communicant of St. Bartholomew’s Church and was active in many of their school and church activities. Lottie’s passion was her family. She was the quintessential Italian mother: If she cooked - you ate and were full - she was happy.
Lottie was the mother of Joseph S. Menna (Margaret) of Cranston, Stephen P. Menna of Haines City, Florida, Raymond M. Menna of Cranston, and Lauren J. Sousa (Steven) of Chocorua, NH. She is also survived by her loving granddaughter, Kristen M. Varone (Ryan) of Cranston, and grandsons Justin Sousa and Ryan Sousa, also of Cranston.
Friends and relatives are invited to celebrate Lottie’s life at a Mass of Christian Burial on Tuesday, January 25, 2022 at 10:00 AM in St. Bartholomew’s Church, 297 Laurel Hill Avenue, Providence. The funeral mass will also be livestreamed at: https://www.facebook.com/116602385068447.
The family respectfully asks all to wear a mask and social distance at the mass. Due to Covid concerns, there will be no calling hours and burial will be private.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Lottie’s memory to Beacon Hospice at: The Amedisys Foundation, One Catamore Blvd., East Providence, RI 02914 or to the Alzheimer's Association Rhode Island Chapter, 245 Waterman Street, Suite 306, Providence, RI 02906.
