

Warwick Louise (Almon) Flaherty , 81, of West Bay Manor, Warwick, and formerly of Providence, passed away peacefully at Kent Hospital on September 11th with her family by her side.Louise Almon was born in the Smith Hill section of Providence to the late Peter and Isabel (Kiernan) Almon, the youngest of their five children. She is predeceased by her brothers John, Edward, Robert, and Peter. She is survived by numerous nieces and nephews and their children, now dispersed across the country. After graduation from St. Patrick's High School, she worked for the City of Providence until her retirement, rising to the position of Clerk of the Probate Court, where she became popularly known to many in the legal community. During much of that time she gracefully accepted the role of primary caregiver to her widowed mother who suffered a long illness. Louise met the love of her life, Richard Flaherty, of Falmouth MA, relatively later in life but they enjoyed a blissful marriage until his passing. Undeterred, Louise then decided to return to work at the Claflin Co. in Warwick, joining her many nieces and nephews in the growing family business.Louise quickly became a beloved member of the Claflin team where she will be dearly missed by many co-workers. She had a gift for a most charming sense of humor that endeared her to all she met. A caring and lovable soul with a sharp wit, she will leave a lasting memory. Visiting hours will be held Wednesday, from 4:00 - 7:00 pm, in the Russell J. Boyle & Son Funeral Home, 142 Centerville Road, (Rt117) Warwick. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated Thursday, at 11:00 am, in Saint Kevin Church, 333 Sandy Lane, Warwick, to which relatives and friends are invited. Burial will be private. Immediately following Mass, the Almon family extends a cordial invitation for all to return to the Warwick Country Club, 394 Narragansett Bay Avenue, Warwick for a reception.
