Lourdes Ramona Quezada

Lourdes R. (Campos) Quezada, 68, passed away peacefully on September 13, 2026, surrounded by her family. She left behind a legacy of boundless love, infectious joy, and a spirit that truly wanted to share its light with the world.

Born in Navarrete, Dominican Republic, she was the daughter of the late Jose Antonio and Elsa (Rodriguez) Campos.

Lourdes was the loving mother of Lisa Place-Scavone and her husband, Patrick, Kenneth Quezada and his wife, Marjorie, and Silvia Quezada; cherished grandmother of Alexander Scavone, Sophia Quezada, and Thomas Haxton V; and beloved sister of Elsa Grullon and her husband, Jose, Francisco Miguel Campos and his wife, Gine Altagracia, and Juan Isidro Campos. She was a devoted aunt Elsa Campos and to many other nieces and nephews who adored her as much as she loved them. She is also survived by her former husband, Pedro Jose Quezada, with whom she shared many years and a treasured family. She was predeceased by her brothers, Hector, Jose Ramon, and Joel Campos.

Lourdes attended Central High School and worked at Speidel and Textron for many years before beginning a career at Women & Infants Hospital, where she dedicated more than 25 years.

Lourdes lived life with her whole heart, guided by deep faith and wisdom, as captured in her favorite saying: “God protect me from the things that I cannot protect myself.” Generous and nurturing by nature, she found happiness in caring for others and was always eager to share a warm meal, an open door, and a listening ear. She was a beloved fixture at the Big Cheese Pub in Cranston, where she was cherished as family. Whether she was dancing anywhere the music took her or filling a room with her laughter, Lourdes brought an effervescent energy, fun, and vibrancy wherever she went. She poured kindness, encouragement, and unwavering support into the youth around her, always inspiring them to dream big and pursue happy, successful lives. Above all, Lourdes cherished time with her family, who were the center of her world and the source of her greatest joy.

Relatives and friends are invited to attend her visitation on Friday, September 18th from 4:00-7:00 pm in the Russell J. Boyle & Son Funeral Home, 331 Smith Street, Providence, RI.
