Lucille Evelyn Rudis

Rudis, Lucille E., 83, of Smith Street, died peacefully on Friday at the Jane Brown Unit of Rhode Island Hospital with her family by her side. She was the loving wife of the late Peter R. Rudis. 

Born in Providence, she was a daughter of the late John F. and Lucy B. (Greenhalgh) Tracy III.

Lucy worked as a Store Manager for the Salvation Army. She also was the co-owner, along with her husband Pete, of Rudis' Grille for 18 years, and in her younger years worked as a telephone operator for New England Telephone Company.

She leaves four sons, Peter J., William J., Raymond M. and Joseph P. Rudis and his wife Nicole, a sister, Ruth E. Wilkinson, eight grandchildren, and two great grandchildren. She was the mother of the late Kenneth R. and Stephen A. Rudis and sister of the late John F. Tracy.

Her funeral will be held on Wednesday, May 16, at 8:45 am, from the Russell J. Boyle & Son Funeral Home, 331 Smith Street, Providence. Mass of Christian Burial at 10:00 am in Saint Augustine Church, 639 Mount Pleasant Avenue, Providence. Burial will be in Gate of Heaven Cemetery, East Providence. Visiting hours Tuesday 4-8 pm.
