

Riley, M. Blanche, (deBlois),102, of Coventry, died Sunday, January 1, 2017 at Kent Hospital. She was the devoted wife of the late William Riley for 51 years.Born in Cranston, Blanche was the daughter of the late Henri and Mary Jane deBlois. She is also pre-deceased by her brothers Alphonse and Rene deBlois and by her sister, Corinne deBlois. She is survived by her sons William (and Jeanne) Riley of South Kingstown, Jack (and JoAnn) Riley of Hope Valley, Richard (and Emily) Riley of Coventry, Thomas (and Patricia) Riley of Nashua, NH; Steven (and Janet) Riley of Coventry, and her daughter Corinne Riley of Coventry, as well as 15 grandchildren, 18 great-grandchildren and many loving nieces and nephews. Blanche began her life-long association with Coventry while summer tent-camping on Johnson's Pond as a girl. Here she met her late husband Bill, where they maintained a summer camp he built, as well as a year-round home in Coventry, eventually across the pond from the original camp. She loved to watch sunsets over the pond and the birds at her feeders. She and Bill also enjoyed spending winters in Naples, FL for many years. Blanche was a charter member of SS John and Paul Church in Coventry, where she was a member of the Rosary & Altar Soldality and a faithful parishioner for many years. Her faith was a great comfort to her. She was a devoted wife and mother, a deeply-loved aunt, a loving friend, baker of the best apple pies ever and a very competitive card player, who still won at 102! She will be greatly missed by all who knew her. Her funeral will be held on Saturday, January 7, 2017 at 7:45 am from the Russell J. Boyle & Son Funeral Home, 142 Centerville Road (Rte. 117) Warwick. Mass of Christian Burial at 9 am in SS John & Paul Church, 341 South Main Street, Coventry. Burial will be in St. Mary Cemetery, West Warwick.
