Maria L. Almeida

Born in Cape Verde, Maria was the daughter of the late Anacleto and Andreza (de Rosario) Almeida.

A lifelong devoted Catholic, she lived her faith with grace and joy. Maria loved to dance and celebrate life, but above all, she treasured her family and the time spent together.

She is survived by her children: Augusta J. Lopes Ferreira, Ana Maria Brito Gomes, Manuel Da L. Santiago, Maria Salomé Brito, Maria L. Conceicao, Rita Maria Brito, Jose Eduardo Soares, Hirondina da L. Soares, and Antonio da L. Soares; 18 grandchildren; 20 great-grandchildren; 2 great-great-grandchildren; and 4 siblings. She was predeceased by 2 siblings.

Visitation will be held Monday, December 15, 2025, from 4:00 to 7:00 p.m. at Russell J. Boyle & Son Funeral Home, 331 Smith Street, Providence. A funeral will be held Tuesday, December 16, 2025, beginning at 8:00 a.m. at the funeral home, followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 10:00 a.m. at Holy Name Church, 107 Camp Street, Providence. Burial will follow in Swan Point Cemetery, Providence.

Maria’s warmth, strength, and unwavering love will forever remain in the hearts of those who knew her. Her legacy of faith and family will continue to inspire generations.
