Maria is the wife of the late Liborio Ricci; the mother of Francesco Ricci, Antonio D Ricci, Liberato Ricci, and Antonia Romano (Giacomo); the grandmother of Anna Romano, Nicola Romano, Antonio S. Ricci, Gina M Ricci, Francesca Ricci, and Giovanni Ricci; the great grandmother of Macie Romano, Lucia Ricci, Greyson Romano, and Gabriella Heelan; and the sister of Giovanni GianFrancesco and Isabella GianFrancesco.
A devoted wife, mother, and nonna, and bisnonna she was the heart of our home and a testament to the beauty of a life lived for others.
Born in Fontegreca Italy and carrying its rich traditions in her soul, she found her greatest joy in the simple, sacred rhythms of home.
Her kitchen was a place of endless warmth, where the scent of simmering sauce and fresh baked bread greeted everyone who walked through the door. To her, feeding people was an act of love, and no one ever left her table hungry.
When she wasn't cooking, she could be found in her garden, tending to her roses and vegetables with the same patience and care she gave to her family. She took immense pride in a spotless home, believing that order and cleanliness were reflections of a peaceful spirit.
Above all, her life was anchored by her unwavering faith in Jesus. Her rosary was never far from her reach, and her prayers were the quiet strength that sustained our family through every season.
She leaves behind a legacy of hard work, deep devotion, and a family who will miss her every day. While her hands are finally at rest, the seeds of love she planted in our hearts will bloom forever.
A visitation will be held on Friday, January 9, 2026 from 9am-10:30am in the Pontarelli-Marino Funeral Home, 971 Branch Avenue, Providence and will be followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 11am at St. Ann’s Church, 280 Hawkins Street, Providence. Burial will follow at St. Francis Cemetery.
