Born in Providence, she was the daughter of the late Robert and Angela (Grande) Aucone.
She was the beloved mother of Lisa Tartaglione, Melissa Tartaglione and her partner Karen St. Pierre and Nicole Tartaglione and companion of the late Alfred Quattrucci, Jr. She was also the sister of the late Giusti Aucone.
Marie was a kind, loving and compassionate person. She would go out of her way to help anyone. You would often find her taking a neighbor to a doctor’s appointment, making food for friends, or visiting someone who was ill. She always put others first before herself.
She enjoyed going out with her many friends, going to lunch, Dave’s Market, or Kohl’s. She loved making her signature eggplant and Christmas cookies. Above all she enjoyed spending time with her three daughters who were her pride and joy. Nothing made her happier. She spoke to each of them several times per day, always asking “how was your day and what did you have for supper?”
Marie was a shining example of what it meant to be a good mother and a good person. She exemplified courage and strength throughout her illness and never complained.
She will be missed but never forgotten. Heaven has gained an angel.
Her visitation will be held on Tuesday, June 30, 2026 from 4:00-7:00 PM in the PONTARELLI-MARINO FUNERAL HOME, 971 Branch Avenue, Providence.
Funeral will be held on Wednesday, July 1, 2026 at 9:00 AM from the funeral home, followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 10:00 AM in St. Ann’s Church, 280 Hawkins Street, Providence. Burial to follow in St. Francis Cemetery, Pawtucket.
