Mario A. Petracca III, 52, (Ret. N.P.F.D.), passed away September 18, 2017. Born in Providence, RI, he was the son of Mario A. Petracca II and the late Patricia E. (Mathewson) Petracca; loving father of Alicia M. Feather and her husband Keith, and Caitlyn Petracca; grandfather of Faith and Amya; brother of Matthew J. Petracca and his wife Tina; uncle of Michael and Nicholas.
Mario was a retired North Providence firefighter. He took great joy and pride in his years of service. He enjoyed his concerts (especially Nickelback), golfing and comedy shows. He will be remembered as a caring man who would give the shirt off his back to anyone.
Visitation will be held Friday, 4-7 p.m. with his funeral on Saturday at 9 a.m. from the PONTARELLI-MARINO Home, 971 Branch Avenue, Providence. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10 a.m. in St. Thomas Church, 65 Fruit Hill Avenue, Providence. Burial will be private. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Hope Hospice & Palliative Care, 1085 North Main Street, Providence, RI 02904.
