

North ProvidenceMasterson, Marion, 85, of Willow Street, died Thursday at Rhode Island Hospital. She was the beloved wife of John P. Masterson. They were married for the past fifty-four years. Born in Providence, a daughter of the late George and Sarah (Tahakjian) Abrahamian, she lived in North Providence for the past fifty-two years, previously living in the Riverside section of East Providence. Mrs. Masterson worked in the Tabulating Department of Amica Insurance Company and Providence Washington Mutual Insurance Company for many years, before staying home to raise her loving family. As a younger woman, she worked at McCusker's Salt Water Taffy Stand at Crescent Park, Riverside for many years. During WW II, while in high school, she drove trucks for her father's company, the George Abraham Company. She was a graduate of East Providence High School, where she excelled in playing the clarinet, and was a member of the school band. Mrs. Masterson was a longtime member of Sts. Sahag & Mesrob Armenian Apostolic Church. Beside her husband John, she leaves two daughters, June A. Masterson of North Providence, Marion D. Masterson-Tso, and her husband Wayne Tso, of Lincoln; and three loving grandchildren, Sarah E. Insana, John J. Insana and Grace A. Tso. She was a sister of the late George, Harry, Roxy and Alice Abrahamian. The funeral service will be held Monday, at 11:00 am, in Sts. Sahag & Mesrob Armenian Apostolic Church, 70 Jefferson Street, Providence, to which relatives and friends are invited. Burial will be private. Visiting hours are respectfully omitted.
