Born in Central Falls, he was a son of the late Michael and Clara (Shannon) Conroy; husband of the late Josephine (Verrecchia) Conroy; father of Kathleen Ward (James) and Edward J. Conroy (Lucille); grandfather of 4; great-grandfather of 5; great-great-grandfather of 2; brother of the late James, John, Andrew, and Edward Conroy, Ann Gorman and Mary McNichols.
Mr. Conroy was a general foreman of welding for General Dynamics for 22 years, retiring in 1980.
Visitation and funeral services will be held Monday, 8-9:30 a.m. from the PONTARELLI-MARINO Home, 971 Branch Avenue, Providence, with a Mass of Christian Burial at 10 a.m. in St. Ann Church, 280 Hawkins Street, Providence. Burial will follow in St. Francis Cemetery, Pawtucket. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the St. Ann Church Memorial Fund.
