

Born in Providence, he was the son of the late Leo and Martha (Ukriencz) Schwartz.
A graduate of Tolman High School, he went on to earn bachelor’s and master’s degrees from Providence College. Mr. Schwartz spent his career as a high school biology teacher in the Pawtucket Public School Department at Shea High School. He also enjoyed studying art, maintained a vast collection of art books, and was a talented artist whose work was shown at RISD.
He is survived by a son, Lawrence Schwartz and his wife Luisa and their two sons, Jacob and Jordan. He is also survived by three siblings, Vickie Governor, Paula Taxer and Dr. David Schwartz and his wife Barbara and many nieces and nephews. He was also the brother of the late Charles, Samuel and Abraham Schwartz.
A graveside service will be held Tuesday, March 17, 2026 at 1:00 pm in Lincoln Park Cemetery, 1469 Post Road, Warwick, Rhode Island.
