Mary D. Bowen, 97, of North Smithfield, formerly of Centerdale Manor in North Providence, passed away on Friday, May 6, 2016 at Saint Antoine Residence, North Smithfield. She was the wife of the wife of the late John F. Monahan. Born in Providence, she was a daughter of the late William and Bridget (O’Leary) Ryan. Mary worked as a night secretary at Pawtucket Memorial Hospital for several years before retiring in 1982. She attended Saint Patrick’s High School for Girl, and graduated with the first graduating class. Mrs. Bowen was also a member of the Sacred Heart League. She was the mother of the late Marc J. Bowen and sister of the late William J. Ryan; and sister in law of the late Nancy Ryan. Mary leaves behind several nieces and nephews. Committal prayers and interment will be held on Tuesday, May 10, 2016 at 11:30 am, in the Chapel of Saint Francis Cemetery, Pawtucket, RI. Visiting hours will be respectfully omitted.
