Mary Spinella Iannucci

Mary was the daughter of the late Antonio and Fortunata (Genovese) Spinella of Providence. She is survived by her siblings Josephine Carcieri, Betty Broderick and Ann Marandola all of Providence and Elaine Drapeau of East Providence. Her siblings Salvatore, Sarah Iannarelli, and Peter predeceased her.

Besides her husband of 69 years, Mary is survived by her daughter Carol and her husband Andrew Parsons of Fisher Island, FL and Watch Hill, RI; daughter Janet and her husband Francis Curren of Newport, RI; daughter Lori and husband David Sundstrom of Wyckoff, NJ; son Frank and wife Kimberly of North Providence, RI. Her daughter Sharon, late wife of Jeffrey Gerlach of Middletown, RI, predeceased her. Mary and Frank have ten grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.

After Mary's children were grown, Mary became very interested in Bridge which was a natural progression of her love of card games. She became a Life Master in 1994 and was a four day a week Bridge competitor at the Bridge Club of Rhode Island, which she enjoyed enormously.

Her love was apparent in her daily actions. She was a source of great strength to her family.

Visitation will be held Thursday 5-7 pm in the PONTARELLI-MARINO Home, 971 Branch Avenue, Providence. Relatives and friends are invited to attend a Mass of Christian Burial Friday at 11 am St. Augustine Church, 639 Mount Pleasant Avenue, Providence. Burial will follow in St. Francis Cemetery, Pawtucket. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Home & Hospice Care of RI, 1085 North Main Street, Providence, RI 02904.
