Maureen A. Coogan

North Providence Maureen A.Coogan, 74, of Douglas Avenue, passed away Thursday, June 27, 2013, at home. Born in Providence, she was a daughter of the late John J. and Margaret M. (Barrett) Coogan. Maureen was a secretary for Leviton Manufacturing Company for many years before retiring. A longtime parishioner of Mary, Mother of Mankind Church, she was a Eucharist Minister and weekly Lector. She was also a volunteer at The Miriam Hospital. She leaves her sister in law, Marilyn E. Coogan; a niece, Patricia E. Bailey; three great-nephews, Christopher, Robert and Matthew Levesque; and her best friend, Josephine Jones. She was pre-deceased by her brother, Robert E. Coogan, and a niece, Jean M. Coogan. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated Wednesday, at 9:30 am, in Mary, Mother of Mankind Church, 25 Fourth Street, North Providence, to which relatives and friends are invited. Burial will be private. Visiting hours and flowers are respectfully omitted.
